Peek into the Powers Museum Collections

Carthage ephemera featured in 1992 exhibit celebrating Carthage's Sesquicentennial.

The Powers Museum's permanent collection numbers over 14,000 items and is growing every year. Since museum display space is limited, only a small percentage of artifacts are ever displayed at any one time. However, the goal of this section of the website is to highlight some of those other holdings.

But remember, just because artifacts are are not on display does not mean they are not available for research or educational study. Like the resources of the archival collection, items in storage can be consulted by prior arrangement. (Contact the museum for the appropriate application and to make an appointment.)

Tables have been put up to display the wedding gifts for the couple, many of which remained in the Powers-Winchester families and are now part of the founding collection of the Powers Museum.
